FAQ

Positive Feedback (as read here) is the merging of two print publications in 2002 (neither of which are any longer in print) audioMusings and Positive FeedbackPositive Feedback is a community composed of writers and creative persons from around the world. But, how do I get the most from the site? See below...

Commenting

At the end of every article and review is the option to comment. This is through the DISQUS portal. While it does require you to create an account (username and password), that information is not used by us or the DISQUS people for anything that we are aware of... so no worries on your part. All DISQUS comments must be approved at our end to appear on the site (we have the option of approving or not, marking the comment Spam, Editing the comment, or simply Deleting it—all of these are our Editorial decision, not yours) and while we get to them as quickly as possible, again be patient as it might be a few hours or even a day or two before it appears (We are not at the computer 24/7—we do like our sleep—and there are days where we might be traveling, covering a show, or just not online for some reason). Meaning no need to post twice. Please note: Comments that are derogatory, inflammatory, self-righteous, arrogant, condescending, self-promoting, or simply mean and not in the spirit of conversation—that is they should add to the discussion of the original Post and not detract—will not be approved or will have such comments or wording edited out at our discretion. So be civil. We have no issues with a difference of opinion, but like we said, present it in a way that furthers the conversation and not one that is argumentative and/or demeaning.

We also have a page titled Reverberations. This can be found in the Footer and is where we post, with the author's permission, emails and such to Positive Feedback.

Contacting

You can contact all of our writers through the Contact option in the Header and Footer. Choose the writer, fill in the fields, and send away. Our writers will do their best to respond in a timely matter, but we all know life can get in the way of things, so be patient.

Printing

One can print the content on both versions of the site. On the older html site, the pages have been laid out to print on 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper. One can also copy and paste into your choice of Word or other similar programs, and then print or save as a .pdf.

Now on the new site, there is a Print option at the end of every article or review (bottom left Print Friendly). Choose this and a new window will open with the article or review minus the advertising banners—all you will see is the text and any relevant images in the article or review. You will have the option of printing, saving as a .pdf, and/or emailing the article or review at the top of the window. One also has the options of removing the images, as well as changing the text size. Printing is limited to black and white, though the .pdf option is saved in color.

Searching

One can search the newer Positive Feedback (this one), through the Search option at the top left of each page (in the Header). Searching the older html site is best done with Google or whatever search option you prefer as the Search function is not able to search two different sites.

Various Features

While Positive Feedback is a dynamic site, articles and reviews are posted quite often, it is also organized as a bi-monthly publication. To assist in this, each issue has a Table of Contents. Choose this in the Header or Footer to see what has been published in the current Issue's two month period.

On the Table of Contents page, we have a drop down menu that allows one to jump to any category, aptly titled Jump to any category. Easy to use if all you want to read is something further down the page. All Categories are listed alphabetically and all content is in chronological order.

The Archive page is where you can access any of the Issues' Table of Contents - both the older html site and the newer WP site.

If one clicks on the name of the author (in red) of the article or review, it will launch a window with the author's system. While we strive to have these complete and current, you will come across a few that are not. Any items that are on a long-term loan, are in bold.

To the right of any article or review, is a listing of other articles or reviews by that author as well as other reviews or article of similar products. It is limited to the most recent 10, but if that author piques your interest, this gives you a place to start.

In most cases, one can click on an image to launch a new window containing a larger version of that image. Hit the back arrow to return to the page.

We are not currently mobile friendly—though we are mobile optimized—so if you are on an Apple device using Safari, you do have the option of using Reader View that will make the site... well, easier to read. This is seen as the three horizontal lines to the left in the Navigation bar. Click that and the window is replaced with just the text of the article or review. You do lose the images and advertising banners, but the text is easily read in a larger size.
